I almost never believe a rikishi who says he had no intention to henka, "It
just happened."
Kotooshu (unlike Kaio, for example) seems to feel no shame in doing henka a
few times each basho. He is not muttering to himself that he should never
have tried to get away with such terrible sumo. He is lamenting the fact
that he didn't even get the win. Despite "cheating".
If I'm wrong, then Kotooshu actually realizes that that kind of crap is
unbecoming an ozeki. If that's true, then maybe he will stop it now and try
to maintain his rank through good sumo instead of just trying to get wins at
all costs.
I hope Wakanosato taught him this lesson today, but it's doubtful. Unless
he continues to lose this way, I'm sure he Oshu will go on to become one of
the most henka-ing sanyaku rikishi in history
