In his interview, Shirononami confirmed that he had his chimes rung with a harite.  The blow wasn't apparent in the data stream, fuzzy vision coverage.  Several months ago, he suddenly went comatose while standing around in a keiko-ba and was hospitalized. It looked like it had happened again.

Yeah, he was knocked out.  Then he injured the knee on the way down.  

This kind of incident may add injury to insult, but there's certainly no
reason to retire over it.
