He also was having treatment for a neck and upper back injury before and
during the May basho.

As for the article, it says:  "Asa did not appear at his stable when
training resumed on June 4, apparently due to a cold he caught after the
Summer basho." I think maybe the reason was that he had to go to Hawaii the
following day (as did the other rikishi) and was en route from Mongolia,
after the regular week off after basho that the boys get, from where he
accompanied his Mom and Dad to the Koen. He is now in Nagoya, having gone a
week ago last Sunday.
