Asashoryu win streak got blasted by a strong Dejima de-ashi. This was
Dejima's fourth win, but the first kinboshi against Asashoryu. Dejima is
on a roll after already beating Hakuho yesterday going forward, and
tomorrow he'll face another ozeki with Chiyotaikai against whom he has a
13-18 record.

Kaio failed to become the sole sanyaku leader as he lost to Aminishiki.
Kotooshu is 1-2 with a close yoritaoshi loss to Homasho, and Tochiazuma
got his first win this basho against Tokitenku.

As no sanyaku remained undefeated, this was the chance for maegashira
rikishi to jump into the lead. Baruto failed to do so, losing to
Kotoshogiku with a yoritaoshi and possibly re-injuring his knee. Ama is
the only undefeated rikishi in the upper makuuchi half, with
Toyonoshima, Tamakasuga and Tamanoshima joing him at 3-0.

The Zakura brothers are still searching for wins this year as both are
0-3. For now it looks like Kitazakura won't get repromoted to makuuchi.
Young Tochiozan won against Wakanosato and is the highest ranked 3-0
rikishi in juryo as Hokutoriki lost to small Satoyama. In a familiar
event many leaders lost today, leaving Tochisakae and Kobo as the other
two undefeated leaders.
