Then it is one's opinion on how valid his original apology was,
relative to the infraction. To me, his original apology sufficed.

He was welcomed back because the suspension was over and the behind
the scenes negotiations were completed, as was the choreographing
of his return.
Due to the unbridled enthusiasm for this debate, we'll leave it at
you holding Asashoryu responsible and me holding the Kyokai
responsible. No point continuing this debate when we have such
diametrically opposed views and others on the mailing list are
itching to pounce from all directions. Let's look forward to an
exciting January basho, a healthy Asashoryu, and the resurgence of
sumo.
