I have an archive on my computer of all messages since mid 2004 in
Thunderbird format, the email client I use. Using Thunderbird I viewed
all sumo messages in the time period and did a sort by name. I then
went through the sorted names and located all names which had more than
about 110 messages from them. I then used Thunderbird's search feature
to search the sumo messages for each such name, which resulted in a list
and a total for that name. Then I examined the list to see if all looked
correct, then saved the total for that name. When I knew of multiple
handles (as with Barbara Ann) I consolidated the numbers under one name.
Then I took the hand-written list and pasted it into an Excel worksheet
to do a sort by number, then copied it out and pasted it into the
mailing list message which I was writing.

I am rather fastidious about doing backups of my archived email and data
files. Usually I do an incremental backup every day, with solid backups
every month or two. Without the frequent backups I would have lost all
my databases at least 3-4 times due to computer failure in the time
since mid 2004. But because of my backups, I have all my personal email
back to 1996 still on my computer.
