Agreed! IMHO The single most important thing in
increasing the popularity of sumo would be the
ascension of a Japanese Yokozuna. This is a Japanese
sport mainly watched by Japanese people. Hakuho
making Yokozuna is a great step, but a rivalry like
the one between the Hawaiians and the Hanadas would
once again make sumo go through the roof. How old is
Takanohana's oldest son? Don't get me wrong, Asashoryu
by being so dominant has been good for sumo, but not
as good as a hotly contested rivalry between rikishi
that the Japanese people would like to watch.
