It's hard to know what happened behind the scenes, obviously. It's just a
case where a Japanese rikishi mucked up and ended up retiring. Perhaps it
even solidifies the point as rather than waiting to get punished, he did the
'honorable' thing instead (though to me it seems VERY odd, as his retirement
will cut a lot out of his paycheck, no? And prevent him from paying back
those debts?)
