Lynn, you really nailed it in this as well.   When all is said  and done, you 
either accept a different culture as it is, or you  don't.   I find much 
admirable about Japan and it's culture, and about  Sumo as well.  I will continue 
to enjoy the spectacle.   I will  allow those directly concerned with Sumo to 
handle its problems.  Some day  soon, the annoyance at the "head in sand" 
kyokai will lessen.   I will  remember that there is a dark side to Sumo, as there 
is to most  things.   I will hope others who have more of a right to 
criticize  Sumo's hierarchy will do so, and accept their action or inaction.    There 
will always be sadness that some died unnecessarily, or too young, because  of 
this sport (as others died for other sports).   The righteous  indignation 
that is perhaps a natural response to a perceived injustice (and I'm  talking 
mainly about hazing here, not Asa who is a big boy and can take care of  
himself) is already fading.   Thank you for putting all this into  perspective.
