Other than Yahoo claiming intellectual property rights over anything posted
using their service, they have also in my experience deleted newsgroups
along with entire archive of posts (in one case covering several years of
now unrecoverable oral history, on the basis of a single specious and
unsubstantiated complaint), with no recourse.
Given Yahoo's track record for human rights, notably their turning over
records to the Chinese government to be used to prosecute a dissident
citizen, I am not comfortable letting them have any say over what gets
posted and what doesn't.
Then there's the junk at the bottom of each message, truncating of URL links
and email addresses... The list goes on.
