Nothing about Yusho or Jun-yusho, just being in the race until
senshuraku OR having 12 wins. There were several follow-up messages
to this list indicating other posters were reading this comment the
same way I do. If you have other information, I really would love to
read it! :)
OTOH, 12 wins, regardless of finishing position, would give him 35
wins over 3 basho, with a 3rd place finish (5-way tie with Ama,
Asasekiryu, Chiyotaikai, and Tamanoshima) in January, a yusho in
March, and, of course, the to-be-determined finish in May.
