The Japanese royal family tries very hard not to be even the slightest 
burden to their subjects.  It's probably unlikely that "command 
performances" are a frequent occurrence.  Even sumo attendance is 
limited usually to Sundays, so their motorcade does not cause traffic 
snarls.  Their entrance yesterday was at halftime, so they would not 
disturb anyone's match.  They are amazingly considerate. Probably a 
private performance would have to be worked out far in advance, with 
many assurances that no one was being inconvenienced.  That's really 
nice of them.
