Ozeki Kaiou came to Miyagino-beya today for the Tatsunami-Isegahama
rengo keiko, and had 11 bouts against new Komusubi Georgian Kokkai and
others, no results given. Today was the first time he trained with other
sekitori since the last basho. He was looking good, using his favorite
right uwate nimbly. "I've got to do more of this.. There are a lot of
genki young guys out there. This is a great training place!", he said,
satisfied. Present, among others, were Ozeki Hakuhou, Rohou and Ama.
Hakuhou himself had 23 bouts against Kokkai and Takamisakari among
others and was 21-2. "Not bad, huh? " he quipped.

Baruto the Estonian giant finally started real keiko yesterday, after
suffering somewhat from a painful left ankle (old injury). He only did
light training, butsugari and did suriashi with 20 kilo sandbags till
yesterday. "I didn't do much today, but I enjoyed the keiko. My ankle is
not bad..", he said, smiling broadly and in good spirits. He returned
from a trip to Estonia, his first in a while, where he showed up at the
Junior World Championships. "The heat here is my real opponent. At home,
the weather is nice and cool and the water is clear. I really didn't
feel like returning to Japan..", he quipped.
He had 12 fans from Lithuania visit the training session as well. "I'm
pretty embarassed when I'm naked in front of foreign fans.. But I'm
really happy they came. It's quite an expensive trip from Lithuania to
Japan!", he uttered. New Oyakata Onoe: "I'd love to see Baruto go for
degeiko to Hakuhou's heya, but we'll have to see how his foot heals. I'd
like him to train with Kotomitsuki and Tochiazuma, who do great Sumo, as
well."

Russian Rohou is trying very hard to change his ":bad boy image",
enhanced by the scandal last basho. Yesterday he went for degeiko at
Oguruma beya, and was seen giving advice to Makushita hopeful and
compatriot Wakanohou. He actively participated in the keiko session. "A
lot of people have a negative
image of me. I'll try to do good Sumo to try to change their attitude a
bit", he said.
Since a week ago, his father is with him in Japan, after not seeing him
for a year and a half, and he intends to stay till senshuraku. "He is
improving, but it's still not good enough", said Felix the dad,
expecting a real change in attitude.

help secure his Ozeki promotion next basho. A black T-shirt showing
ex-Yokozuna Musashimaru wearing a big cross. It was given to him by

at the moment I'm about 50%..", he explained.
