As someone who knows a little about facial hair (understatement of the
month) I have to chime in.
1) Most beards are very much like steel wool (think Brillo) when they
are first coming in. Depending on the speed of growth it can take a few
days to a few weeks for it to get long enough to mellow out.
2) Once the beard is long enough regular use of a good shampoo and
conditioner will keep it soft and supple.
3) As someone who also has very sensitive skin, daily shaving can be
more than just an irritant. It can actually lead to infection.
4) A properly cared for beard at a reasonable length would be akin to
whatziznames sideburns.
Ok, this post serves no real value to advancing the discussion of Sumo
but, hey, it's really dead in here. :-)
