Ross Mihara: Here's Riyo Ohta with a hanamichi report. This one's with
Gaijingai.
Riyo: Gaijingai, omedeto. You racked up a fine 12-3 record in the Hoshitori
Contest and an excellent 14-1 jun-yusho in the Upside Down Hoshitori
Contest. To what do you owe your success in the Upside Down Contest?
Gaijingai: Looking at how poorly I did in the other contests, I picked
myself at 6 points.
Riyo: Anooooo....so desuka?
Gaijingai: Not really. I got energized with Thanksgiving.
Ryo: How so?
Gaijingai: Well, we are from Massashigawa-beya and grew up in Massachusetts,
but now live down South. We decided to have a Southern Thanksgiving
instead.
Riyo: How did it differ from a traditional one?
Gaijingai: Well, for one thing all our salad bowls had Cool Whip printed on
the sides.
Riyo: Anooooo....
Gaijingai: And our fine china had Dixie printed on them.
Riyo: Eitooooo....
Gaijingai: For the main course we had squirrel and dumplings and the side
dishes included beef jerky and Moon Pies.
Riyo: Nandeka.
Gaijingai: But the best was saved for last - the Elvis Jell-o mold!
Riyo: Nandelo.
Gaijingai: And fortunately it was a bright sunny day so we could hang the
toilet paper out to dry.
Riyo: Back to you, Ross!
Best regards,
Jeffrey Anderson
