Hi Jarko !

First, I won't call them fat for the most part of them (technicaly, muscle 
is heavier than fat)
Second, muscles have limits (bones' size for instance) and then to become 
difficul for an opponent to move out the Doyo you have to gain more weight 
ie fat...

But that's not the main point. Sekitoris represent giants that common people 
could never get close to.
More than a convention, it's simply a matter of fact...
