The yokozuna, the four ozeki and sekiwake Kotomitsuki are a combined
38-4, and Futeno got three of the four wins against this group as he
beat his third ozeki this basho, giving Chiyotaikai his first loss.
Kisenosato beat Miyabiyama for the first time after three losses,
sending the sekiwake to 4-3 and essentially ending his slim ozeki
promotion hopes. But even Futeno is just 3-3 against this group as he
already lost against the other three rikishi.

Only three undefeated rikishi are remaining as Asasekiryu lost to
winless Tamanoshima. Homasho (with his consecutive win), Baruto and
Toyonoshima are catching up at 6-1 with wins.

Toyozakura got his first win ever against Hokutoriki who is 0-7 now. The
same with Tamakasuga who beat winless Hakurozan for the first time.
Kotomitsuki also beat the head-to-head record against winless Iwakiyama,
improving to 6-8 (5-8 even without a fusensho). Asasekiryu was ahead
against winless Tamanoshima and promptly loses... Ama didn't follow this
"trend" as Kotoshogiku beat the winless lead maegashira and is leading
the rivalry 7-3 now. Tochiazuma of course too as he is 10-2 against
Kokkai now.

Shunketsu is the sole juryo leader now as Oga and Sumanofuji lost.
Wakanosato, Tamaasuka, Jumonji and Satoyama are joining second place at
5-2 with wins today. It looks like Kanbayashi and Hokutoiwa will make it
two demotees from Hakkaku-beya as both are 1-6 in low juryo. It's a bad
basho for Hakkaku-beya with the four sekitori at 6-22. At least Fukuoka
and Hoshihikari are bright spots in the lower divisions.
