Yokozuna Asashouryuu went to his first pre-Kyushu 2006 degeiko today to
Sadogatake beya and "overwhelmed" Ozeki Kotooushuu and Sekiwake
Kotomitsuki. He was breathing heavily as the result of his cold. "Well,
it wasn't bad for an opening session", he said.

Injured Estonian Baruto is training with lower rankers mostly, and was
seen climbing up and down a lot of stairs in an adjacent temple. "There
is still time till the basho, and I am taking things slowly and
carefully. I am not worried at all!", he proclaimed.

Ozeki Chiyotaikai had his first real keiko session today at Kokonoe
beya, his home. He did some meticulous warm-up exercises, then proceeded
to have 19 bouts in 30 minutes, some of them with Ozeki Kaiou who came
to visit. "I'm tired, but I feel great. My body was moving forward", he
said of his first pre-Kyushu keiko with Sanyaku rikishi.
