[sumo] [Spoiler]March Day 11 Makuuchi torikumi

James,

Basically, the pecking order is for the Yokozunas to face each other on the
last few days, the Ozekis same way. Since we only have one Yokozuna, then
he then will face each of the 4 ozekis on the days 12, 13, 14, and 15. Two
ozekis will face each other on each of those days, and the odd ozeki will
face someone else (Sekiwake, or some other rikishiki with a good record in
the basho).

That is why Hakuho (Sekiwake) and Asashoryu will face each other on day 11.

I think I have this right, but if not, I am sure to be corrected by those
more in the know.

Someone please explain to me the tradition or whatever it is that has these
two pairing up on day 11 instead of later. Everyone except Tochiazuma is
pretty beat up this basho, so I'm not expecting Osh, Kaio, or Chiyotaiki to
give Hakuho or Asashoryu much of a challenge when those bouts come up.
