NY women are tougher than the average - you don't want to mess with them 
lightly. I had a friend who - when some moron tried to rub his exposed 
penis on the hand she was holding the pole with - took out a hatpin and 
let him have it where it would do the most damage. An experience like 
that will have him thinking more than twice before trying something like 
that again. (A far better solution than counselling or the courts IMNSHO.)

Also - NY even at rush hour doesn't come close to comparing with the 
Tokyo subway at rush hour. In Tokyo, they have 'packers' whose job it is 
is to push and shove and cram the passengers into the car until it is 
ready to burst at the seams.

If anyone is old enough to remember the old 'Toonerville Trolley' 
cartoons - it is like the scene where the mice pour into into the 
football stadium in a non-ending stream - and the stadium keeps 
expanding like a balloon as more and more come in until it is 10x the 
size it was.
