The West Laurel Civic Association (WLCA) was established April 28, 1964. It is comprised of neighborhood residents from Prince George's and Montgomery Counties. The membership body elects officers and board members (area reps) to protect and represent the best interests of the community.
The WLCA is governed by its by-laws which have been amended and approved by the community over the years. Election of officers and board members occurs each year at the May spring meeting. WLCA board positions are for two years. The area reps terms are staggered so that half are elected each year. If you wish to join the WLCA or are interesting in filling a board position, please contact the WLCA board.
The WLCA is dedicated to protecting the quality of life for West Laurel. Historically, the WLCA has focused on urban sprawl, develop projects, transportation issues, crime and more. The efforts of the WLCA are reported in the community newsletter called the HOTLINE which is printed three time per annum (February, May and October).
The WLCA closely works with the 21st Delegation state legislature as well as with the County Councils in Prince George's and Montgomery counties. For more information on the West Laurel Civic Association, please contact your area rep or any board member.
